Same Old Story, but An Inspirational Story to Share!

Andrew was released early afternoon Tuesday.  He was sent home with an oral antibiotic.  Last night, Andrew was looking forward to watching the much hated Miami Heat play against his beloved Bulls, with his mom.  During dinner before the game, Andrew started to shiver uncontrollably, indicating he probably was developing a fever.  They went straight to Children's and were admitted later that night.

Andrew has many opportunities to see the Bulls, Hawks and the Sox with incredible tickets, but because of his health he rarely if ever has gone.  Sucks doesn't it.  I grieve and am sad for my son who is missing out on many things, but I guess I have to keep the faith God has a greater plans for Andrew than watching his favorite sport teams with incredible seats;-)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

I found out Andrew's blood pressure went extremely low due to the three antibiotics administered to treat the bacterial infection found in Andrew's blood cultures.  As a result of the low bp, he was given dopamine to get his bp up and three bags of iv fluids.  He looks good and if the cultures from his blood are clear, we should be able to go home Sunday.  Please pray the cultures are clear.

Answered prayer.  Cultures are clear and God willing, we should be able to go home this Sunday.  Thank you for your prayers!

I want to end with a great story and video I was made aware from a website called, where I regularly frequent to see inspirational videos of how God works in people..  In this inspirational and powerful video,  I saw a video of a man, who had leukemia and needed a life saving bone marrow transplant, meeting his gracious and selfless donor.  I know I have mentioned Danielle Vickers of Lifesource who works with Be the Match in setting up bone marrow donor drives.  Danielle has helped organize many drives, especially in the Asian community where representation in the National Bone Marrow Registry is woefully low, to help our family find a match for Andrew.  She simply is the best!  It turns out after I posted the video on Facebook, she commented that the man in the video, Luis, is a friend of hers and works at the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  What a small world!  Luis wrote me on Facebook, saying how he is rooting and praying for us.  Although Andrew has found a match, please spread the word to as many people as you can about bone marrow donation.  Please refer them to
(click) to help educate them and get them started on the super simple and easy process to get registered.  A few minutes can save a life like Luís' and Andrew's!  BE THE MATCH TODAY! Won't you be like Ana, the donor, and simply extend a act of selflessness and donate!  Ana is our hero and inspiration, along with Luis who is the ultimate survivor.
