DAY 16...ANDREW IS NOT WELL...NEED PRAYERS ASAP.

Day 16 (June 1st, (9:30am)

Last night was quite eventful to say the least.  Andrew continues to be on oxygen because of his pneumonia and the shallow breathing that has come with it.  Andrew got another terrible nose bleed and soon after his blood pressure went dangerously low, 75/35!  A immediate transfusion of platelets were infused to help clot and get his blood pressure up.  It did the trick.   Again, salt pork was packed into the nose to clot the bleed.  I woke up to a team of nine nurses and doctors who were all present to determine if Andrew needed to go to the i.c.u.  Based on his bp back to a somewhat normal level and his breathing to be controlled, they ruled against it.

Dr. Sonali, our primary stem cell Dr., showed me this morning the severity of the pneumonia in his lungs and comparing it to his baseline c.t., a child could see how bad his right lung is.  She said if  Andrew's breathing becomes more of an issue, he will go to the icu to get get more specific breathing apparatus.  So right now, Andrew will be wearing a mask with infused  humidified air as oppose to oxygen delivered via a nostril tube, which can cause major drying that can cause nose bleeds.  Of course, Dr. Sonali gives worse case scenarios, so we won't be surprised with anything, which is him being intubated down in ice, but Andrew seems far from that, and she stresses the pneumonia is serious and the next few days are crucial.  Furthermore, the delirium I alluded has gotten better, but he remains to talk in his sleep. Again, the cause of it maybe all the drugs he is on.  Today, when up, this is the most lucid I have seen Andrew in over 48 hours.

You know the drill Andrew's Army, We need prayer!

-PRAY THE MEDS WOULD CLEAR UP HIS PNEUMONIA FAST.
-PRAY HIS BREATHING WOULD GET MARKEDLY BETTER SOON/
-PRAY HIS DELIRIUM WOULD CLEAR UP.
-PRAY FOR JENNIFER AND MYSELF AND OUR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH, SO WE CAN TAKE OF ANDREW WITH OUR ALL.

Last night was rather intimidating with all the commotion of trying to get his blood pressure up.  The tiny isolation room was filled with people trying to get him better fast.  The amazing thing is, and I praise God for this,  in the midst of a very anxiety provoking event, I remained relatively calm.  I tried to recite scripture to myself and the scripture which I repeated over and over was Philippians 4:6-7.  Maybe it's because it's one of the handful of scripture I have memorized;-) Nonetheless, the peace that passes all understanding, especially in the midst of seeing my son seriously sick, enveloped me last night.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Keep on praying and feel free to pass along to friends that can lift Andrew up in prayer.
